COMMUNIQUE
The Diabetes Foundation Mauritius (DFM) is organizing a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session for Medical and Nursing Professionals on Saturday, 23 August 2025, from 13:00 to 18:00 hours. The session will be held at the Lecture Theatre, Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD), Pont Fer, Phoenix.
Programme Schedule:
- 13:00 – 13:30: Introduction and address by the Managing Committee of DFM / Health Focus Ltd.
- 13:30 – 14:30: Chronic Kidney Disease and Diabetes: Twin threats to health of Mauritius by Dr. Davy Ip, Consultant in Charge Nephrologist
- 14:30 – 15:30: Perspectives of Mauritians living with neurological disability and their family caregivers during COVID-19 lockdown: A thematic analysis from an African Nation by Britney Soll, Doctoral Candidate in Counselling Psychology
- 15:30 – 16:00: Tea and Snacks
- 16:00 – 17:00: Update in Diabetes Management by Dr. Y. Mahadeb, Diabetologist
- 17:00 – 18:00: Stroke Pathways in Mauritius by Dr. H. Reesaul, Consultant Neurologist
Participants will be eligible for one (1) CPD point per topic. Attending all four sessions will allow participants to earn four (4) CPD points.
This CPD Programme is FREE OF CHARGE. Due to limited seating, registrations will be accepted on a First Come First Serve basis.
