The Diabetes Foundation Mauritius (DFM) is a non-profit making voluntary non-
governmental organization involved in the fight against diabetes in the Mauritian
population. The DFM was founded in 2007 and is duly registered with the Registrar of
Associations. It is also an Executive Member of the International Diabetes Federation.
One of the main objectives of the DFM is to build capacity of the Medical and Nursing
Professionals. In this respect, the DFM is accredited with the Medical Council of
Mauritius, as well as with the Nursing Council of Mauritius, as a CPD Provider.
The DFM is scheduling a series of CPD events on Saturdays from July to October 2025 as
per the attached timetable. It is understood that Medical Officers and Nurses attending
successfully the four topics scheduled on each day will be eligible for four (4) CPD points.
The principle of four (4) CPD points will be applicable only for different topics attended. For
instance, anyone attending the scheduled 12 different topics at three different sessions will
be eligible for 12 CPD points. Similarly, anyone attending same four topics at different
sessions will be eligible for only 4 CPD points. The courses will be held in the Lecture
Theatre of the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD), Phoenix.
It has to be noted that a refreshment will be served at each scheduled session during a
break. The CPD Programme will be held FREE OF CHARGE to participants. In view of a
limited number of seats for each session, registration will be made on the principle of First
Come First Serve.
Medical and Nursing Professionals who are interested in attending any session are requested
to fill in the application form, as per the attached proforma, and to mail the same to the DFM at
diabetesfoundationmau@gmail.com by Monday, 14 July 2025.
